Todd Field, Tom Perrotta: Little Children: The Shooting Script
The new film from Oscar nominated writer/director Todd Field (In the Bedroom), based on the acclaimed novel (Little Children) by Tom Perrotta, starring Kate Winslet, Jennifer Connelly, and Patrick Wilson.
Todd Field and Tom Perrotta wanted to create a film that stood on its own, independent of the book. Field says, "The struggle for identity is what these characters battle from the start; it leads to a hunger they are unable to satiate violence and fear hold sway.

Movie Screening: Climates (F)
The internationally acclaimed writer-director’s sublime follow-up to his Cannes multi-award winning film Distant. It vividly recalls the cinema of Italian master Antonioni with its poetic use of landscape and the incisive, exquisitely visual rendering of loneliness, loss and the often-elusive nature of happiness. During a sweltering summer vacation on the Aegean coast, the relationship between middle-aged professor Isa (Ceylan) and his younger, television producer girlfriend Bahar (his luminous, real-life wife) brutally implodes. Back in Istanbul that fall, Bahar rekindles a torrid affair with a previous lover. When Isa learns she has left for a job in the snowy East, he follows her there to win her back.

Exhibition Tour (A, C, E)
James “Athenian” Stuart, 1713 -1788: The Rediscovery of Antiquity
In 1748, James Stuart, along with fellow antiquarian scholar Nicholas Revett, lobbied the Society of Dilettanti, an influential group of wealthy English connoisseurs, for funds to create a “new and accurate description of the Antiquities &c. in the Province of Attica.” Upon receiving support, the Englishmen spent two years painstakingly surveying buildings throughout Athens. Their meticulous observations resulted in the first volume of Antiquities of Athens (1762), a landmark publication that played a central role in the development of neoclassicism, and the creation of the “Greek style.” The book earned Stuart the nickname “Athenian” and paved the way for his influential career as an architect and designer. On a private tour of the first comprehensive exhibition of Stuart’s career, including his interiors for Spencer House and Keddleston Hall.

David Lynch discusses his new book: (E, L)
Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness and Creativity

In Catching the Big Fish, Lynch writes candidly about the tremendous creative benefits he has gained from his thirty-two-year commitment to practicing Transcendental Meditation.
Catching the Big Fish provides unprecedented insight into Lynch's methods, as it also offers a set of practical ideas that speak to matters of personal fulfillment, increased creativity, and greater harmony with one's surroundings.
